Piacevoli sorprese a Les Deux Alpes

Costretta dalla pioggia a rinunciare alle innumerevoli attività sportive che si possono praticare in questa graziosa località alpina, ho deciso di dedicarmi alla fotografia ed andare alla ricerca di “tesori” nei paesini nei dintorni di Les Deux Alpes. Inaspettatamente a Venosc, cittadina le cui botteghe si sono adeguate allo standard turistico dei gadget, mi sono ritrovata ad ammirare delle interessanti opere lignee.

Nel piccolo oratorio all’ingresso del paese c’è una Vesperbild del XV secolo. Vesperdbild significa letteralmente “immagine del tramonto, del vespro” e designa un tema iconografico che inventato nei paesi d’oltralpe nel Trecento, giungerà in Italia del Nord tramite le maestranze nordiche nel Quattrocento. Lo schema verrà poi ripreso dagli artisti del Cinquecento, tra cui Michelangelo, ma il nome verrà sostituito in Pietà. Come avete capito la Vesperbild è un gruppo scultoreo raffigurante la Madonna che sostiene il corpo morto di Cristo ormai irrigidito dalla morte.

Salendo tra le casette in pietra sono arrivata alla chiesa parrocchiale, una costruzione semplice e priva di orpelli, ma che custodisce un altare ligneo del Cinquecento corredato da un tabernacolo, anch’esso in legno dorato, le cui colonne tortili lo portano a datare però al Seicento.

Pleasant surprises in Les Deux Alpes

Rain forced to abandon many sports that you can practice in this lovely alpine resort, I decided to dedicate myself to photography and go lookin of “treasures” in villages near Les Deux Alpes. Venosc unexpectedly, a small town whose shops have adapted to the standard tourist gadget, I found myself admiring the attractive wooden works.

In the small chapel at the village there is a Vesperbild fifteenth century. Vesperdbild literally means “image of the sunset, the evening” and designates an iconography that invented in countries beyond the Alps in the fourteenth century, reach through northern Italy in the fifteenth century northern masters. The scheme will then be taken over by artists of the sixteenth century, including Michelangelo, but the name will be replaced in Pietà. How did you know the Vesperbild is a group of sculptures depicting the Virgin Mary supporting the dead body of Christ now, stiffened by death.

Going between the stone houses have come to the parish church, a simple construction and no frills, but who keeps a wooden altar of the sixteenth century together with a tabernacle, also of gilded wood, whose twisted columns led him to date but the seventeenth century.
